I went out to check on Prince Avenue's UGA target, Christian Garrett, in a game against Athens Academy two weeks ago. Following the game, I had the chance to speak with him about his r
Kirby Smart met with the media today to preview the Ball State game this upcoming weekend and talk more on the UT Martin game.
Kirby starts off the press conference by saying that practice has been great on Monday and Tuesday. The weather in Athens wasn't as hot as expected, so the team had a full outdoor practice today. He states that the coaches challenged the team to have a better week of practice and "So far we've done that, but we've only done 2 of the 4."
UT Martin got the ball
Kirby Smart met with the media following UGA's seasoning opening 48-7 win over UT Martin.
He opened his remarks by saying the UGA fans, "were elite tonight." Smart then goes on to say, "I'll be honest with you I was concerned about complacency among our team, but I was also concerned about complacency among our crowd." With this being the first night game in a long time in Sanford Stadium, Smart says the atmosphere was really good for the players but says they didn't respond to it early.
The 2026 recruiting cycle is two years away, but it's never too early to start looking ahead at potential prospects. The prospect we will look at today is North Oconee's Khamari Brooks. Q. Amarius Mims is a guy that thought about leaving and pretty sure he's pretty glad he didn't leave. Where does he fit in on the O-line and what excites you about his role this year?
SEDRICK VAN PRAN: So just being frank, I think he fits in as a goofball. He's the guy that provides comic relief whenever things are getting serious and hot. You know, you may be a hundred degrees and running guys are ready to get after it, and he says something funny to kind of calm guys down. He's that kind
Q. Kamari, wanted to ask about another guy in the DB room, Javon Bullard, with the approximation change this off-season. What have you seen from him, and especially facing some of that adversity last year and coming back with the two MVPs at the end of the season. What have you seen from Javon this year?
KAMARI LASSITER: JB, that's a guy that he comes to work in day-in, day-out. He's the same guy every day, a hard worker, first-guy-in, last-guy-out type of guy, and he attacks everything wit
Q. Some changes in the off-season, offensive coordinator, Todd Monken, he's off to the NFL to Mike Bobo, and quarterback Stetson is out and you have Beck, Vandagriff, you have Stockton. How has the transition been from one offensive coordinator to the other, and what's your chemistry been like with Carson Beck?
BROCK BOWERS: Yeah, it was pretty seamless because Bubba was there last year and then the tight end room actually helping out and just being the offense, quality control, assistant k
KIRBY SMART: According to Claude Felton, I'm not allowed to go over 10 minutes. After Eli's filibuster yesterday, I have decided to set an alarm that will not let me go over.
Love you, Eli. That was directed right at you.
I want to thank Greg Sankey, number one. His leadership is incredible. I don't think you guys understand how good a job and how I always feel like I'm being redundant because I say the same thing every year, but this year I also wants to give kudos to the staff in Bir

Sydney Kuma, Sara Mosley and Shelby Walters, three UGA Softball seniors who were first-team All-SEC selections in 2023, have told DawgsCentral that they will exercise a final year of eligibility and return to Georgia in 2024.
The Bulldogs had an excellent season in 2023, racking up a 39-12 record (16-7 SEC) that earned them a #2 seed in the SEC Tournament and the right to host a regional in the NCAA Tournament. UGA swept its regional in Athens before falling to eventual national runner-up
With the UGA spring game on Saturday, I want to tell you the position groups I'll be keeping a close eye on.
First, let's start with the obvious, and that's what will happen in the QB room. Georgia has to replace two-year starter Stetson Bennett, and the three most prevalent options are Carson Beck, Brock Vandagriff, and Gunner Stockton. Stockton and Beck are former 4-star prospects, with Stockton in the 2022 cycle and Beck in the 2020 cycle. Brock Vandagriff was the #4 QB and a 5-star rec
Tony Baldwin and his team entered the weekend on a 7-game win streak as they took on Mississippi State in a 3-game series in Athens.
