Stacy Searels stays hot as he gets the commitment of 4-star offensive lineman Daniel Calhoun.

Calhoun is a 6'-6", 355-pound offensive lineman for Walton High School in Marietta, Georgia. He's rated as the 6th OT in the cycle and the 98th overall prospect in the class. Calhoun started his career at Roswell high school, where he played right tackle for the Hornets, but has since transferred to Walton to play his senior season. Throughout his time in high school, he has also had some defensive snaps, totaling 6 tackles in his junior season. Calhoun has also played basketball in high school and has two older brothers that played college football at Minnesota and Wake Forest.

He chose UGA over Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, and Texas. Calhoun was the highest-rated offensive lineman prospect in the peach state, so keeping him instate is huge for Kirby Smart and Stacy Searels. He's the 9th commitment for UGA that hails from inside the state lines. Georgia has a chance with a few more homegrown prospects that 5-star safety KJ Bolden and 5-star WR Mike Matthews highlight.

Calhoun is the 23rd prospect to commit to Georgia in the 2024 recruiting cycle. UGA adds to their lead of the #1 ranked class even after Ohio State picked up the 5-star DL Justin Scott commitment. UGA has 12 commits on offense, 10 on defense, and one special teamer. The Bulldogs have a good chance of picking up two more offensive linemen this week, with Nyier Daniels on the 7th and Marques Easley on the 8th.
