A Recap of UGA Baseball and Softball From This Weekend

Tony Baldwin and his UGA Softball team entered a three-game series with #15 LSU in Baton Rouge on a six-game winning streak but unfortunately couldn't keep it alive.  The Dawgs dropped two games out of three during the weekend. Georgia did win game one of the series 3-1, highlighted by a 3rd inning Sara Mosley home run, and then Dallis Goodnight and Jaiden Fields knocked in one run each in the 4th inning. Three Bulldogs Selected in First Round of NFL Draft

Three former Bulldogs had their names called during the first round of the NFL Draft in Kansas City tonight. Jalen Carter was first to be called as the Philadelphia Eagles selected him after they traded up to the 9th pick to get him. Jalen came to UGA in the 2020 class as the 18th overall-rated prospect and lived up to the hype. He spent three seasons as a Bulldog and was an unanimous All-American in 2022 and a first-team All-SEC selection in 2022 and 2021. In those three seasons,

3 Position Groups I'm Watching Closely on GDay

With the UGA spring game on Saturday, I want to tell you the position groups I'll be keeping a close eye on.  First, let's start with the obvious, and that's what will happen in the QB room. Georgia has to replace two-year starter Stetson Bennett, and the three most prevalent options are Carson Beck, Brock Vandagriff, and Gunner Stockton. Stockton and Beck are former 4-star prospects, with Stockton in the 2022 cycle and Beck in the 2020 cycle. Brock Vandagriff was the #4 QB and a 5-star rec

UGA dropped their home finale to Florida 77-67 in Athens last night.  Georgia played a good first half until they allowed the Gators to go on an 11-0 run late in the period. Florida got hot from deep, making numerous three-pointers late in the half to take a 43-33 lead. At the break, Florida was 54% (6/11) from the three-point line to UGA's 42% (3/7). Hoop Dawgs Pull Out Ugly Win Over LSU

This would have been a terrible loss for Mike White and the Georgia Bulldogs, but they pulled it out over LSU 65-63.  The first half of this game was one of the most frustrating halves of the season for this UGA team, being down to the Tigers 28-26. LSU made 10-28 shots to go 35% from the field, while UGA was only shooting 29% on 8-27 shooting. Georgia played a very sloppy first half turning the ball over 7 times and shooting multiple three pointers that missed the entire goal. They only ma

Georgia gave up runs of 14-0 and 10-0 to find themselves down 38-22 at the halfway point. Georgia was hurling up three-point shots often in the first half, but few were finding the bottom of the net.
