RBU gets their second commitment of the cycle, and this time it's 4-star running back Chauncey Bowens flipping from the Gators to the Dawgs.

Bowens is a 5'11" and 219-pound back that plays at The Benjamin School in North Palm Beach, Florida. He's rated as the #202 overall rated prospect and the #12 running back in the class. Bowens is a multi-sport athlete for his high school as he plays lacrosse, runs track, and plays football. He now joins Dwight Phillips Jr. as the second running back in this class. While Phillips is the speedster, Bowens brings the boom. While Bowens does bring more of a pop, he also has good speed as well, having multiple times in the 100 in the low 11-second range and one clocked at 10.98.

Bowens committed to Florida in September of 2022 but decided to flip to UGA during his official visit. Georgia has been able to pluck away a few big-name prospects from the instate Gators, Hurricanes, and Seminoles. The Bulldogs currently have 4 recruits committed from the sunshine state in 5-star CB Ellis Robinson, 4-star S Jaylen Heyward, 4-star TE Colton Heinrich, and now 4-star RB Chauncey Bowens.

With the commitment of Bowens, UGA now has 18 commitments in the 2024 recruiting cycle, with 11 on offense, 6 on defense, and 1 special teamer. Georgia grows its lead of the #1 class and will only continue to grow the lead in the following months.
Stay tuned to DawgsCentral for all things UGA sports.
