The Hoop Dawgs have taken the court twice since last Saturday's game against Miami.

Georgia played against Providence in the loser's game of the Bahamas Championship. The Bulldogs held a 2-point halftime lead in that game but fell behind and couldn't regain it as they lost 71-64. They shot 38.1% (24/63) from the field and 31.6% (6/19) from the three-point line. The Dawgs shot well from the line, knocking down 10 of the 12 shots they took. 4 out of 5 starters for Providence were in double figures as they all shot the ball well from the field. As a team, they shot 46.4% (26/56) from the field but took a hit at the three-point line. They only made 7 of the 26 shots from behind the arc, but they shot 85% from the free throw line. Mike White's squad led the turnover margin in this game but couldn't pull through with the win. Georgia guards Noah Thomasson and RJ Melendez scored in double figures. Thomasson has been the most consistent scorer for the Bulldogs this season, as he put up another 19 points against Providence. RJ Melendez added 15 points and 5 rebounds as well.

The Dawgs then flew back home for a game against Winthrop on Friday night. Georgia went into the half holding a 36-29 lead over the Eagles. The Bulldogs and Winthrop traded shot for shot in the second half as the Dawgs only grew their lead 2 more points to win the game 78-69.
The Eagles shot horribly from the three-point line as they only made 3 of the 20 three-pointers they shot for a percentage of 15. From the field, they shot 42.4% (25/59). Georgia shot 43.1% (25/59) from the field and 32.1% (9/28) from the three-point line. Mike White's team has struggled at times from the free throw line this season, but in this game, they were great, making 19 of 21 from the charity stripe. Georgia also outrebounded the Eagles 39 to 33 but had 3 more turnovers. Noah Thomasson continued his great play as he dropped 24 points, shooting 8 of 13 from the field and 5 of 7 from downtown. Jabri Abdur-Rahim had 10 points, knocking down 2 threes and 4 free throws. Justin Hill provided a spark for the Dawgs off the bench with 15 points, with 13 of those in the second half.

Mike White and the Georgia Bulldogs are now 3-3 following the win against Winthrop. They face a tough task in their next game as they travel to Tallahassee to take on the 4-1 Florida State Seminoles. Florida State is coming off a 6-point overtime win against #18 Colorado. The game against Florida State is on Wednesday at 9:15 PM EST and will be aired on the ACC Network.
