RBU got another one today. This time it’s 2024 4-star Dwight Phillips Jr. joining the Bulldog backfield. 

The 5’11” 170-pound speedster plays for Pebblebrook High School in Mableton, Georgia. Phillips is ranked as the #4 running back and #71 overall prospect in the 2024 class. He is the 7A 100-meter state champion with a blazing 10.43 second time.

Phillips has played defense and lined up at wide-receiver for his high school. His speed means he can score from anywhere on the field and he could be a matchup nightmare for SEC defenses once he finds his way into the Georgia lineup. He has signed as a running back but he’s the type of back who could lineup in the slot or motion out wide and create an explosive play matched up on a linebacker. 

Phillips is the 9th commitment in UGA’s 2024 recruiting class. The Bulldogs currently have the #1 ranked class in the 2024 cycle and the addition of Phillips will only further widen UGA’s lead. Georgia’s 2024 class now has six commitments on offense and three on defense. White is the fourth in-state commitment in the class.
