UGA dropped their home finale to Florida 77-67 in Athens last night.

Georgia played a good first half until they allowed the Gators to go on an 11-0 run late in the period. Florida got hot from deep, making numerous three-pointers late in the half to take a 43-33 lead. At the break, Florida was 54% (6/11) from the three-point line to UGA's 42% (3/7). Overall, the Dawgs made 10/25 shots for a field goal percentage of 40% and were almost perfect from the free throw line, making 10/12. The Gators were shooting over 50% as they made 15/27 shots from the field and were 7/9 from the charity stripe. Florida's Will Richard was lights out in the first half as he had 15 points, with most of those coming from the three-point line. The Bulldogs were also outrebounded 16-14 and lost the turnover battle 8-6.

The Dawgs put up a great fight in this game, making it a 2 point game late in the second half, but Florida was able to pull away with a 77-67 win. The Gators did cool off a good bit in the second half and finished the game making 29/54 (53%) field goals and were 7/19 (36%) from behind the arc. On the other hand, Georgia shot horribly from behind the arc, making only 4 of 22 three-point attempts. The Dawgs also struggled from the field, making just 21/63 shots for an overall field-goal percentage of 33%. Georgia did come out favorably in the rebound battle, winning 38-36. The Bulldogs also won the turnover battle 13-12.

Kario Oquendo, Braelen Bridges, and Justin Hill all scored in double figures for UGA. Bridges only made 3/11 shots for 10 points and 8 rebounds. Justin Hill had 16 points on 6/17 shooting and only made 1/7 from three-point range. Kario Oquedo lead the team with 20 points but missed all seven of his three-point attempts.

Will Richard, Riley Kugel, and Myreon Jones all eclipsed double figures for Florida. Riley Kugel was outstanding from the field as he made 8/12 shots for 19 points and also 6 rebounds. Myreon Jones also had a good day from the field as he had 14 points on 6/9 shooting and added 12 rebounds to have a double-double. The story for the Florida Gators was Will Richard, as he had a career-high 24 points. Richard was exceptional, shooting 8/11 from the field and 5/8 from behind the arc. The Gators are 15-15 in Todd Golden's first season.

With one more game left in the regular season the Dawgs have a record of 16-14 and the Bulldogs are 6-11 in SEC play. Both those totals represent forward progress for UGA but the Bulldogs have had some close home losses in February against teams in the bottom half of the league standings. A win over White’s former team would have felt like a positive way to wrap up UGA’s home schedule. Georgia's regular season finale is against South Carolina in Columbia at 1:00 PM EST on Saturday. The game will be played on SEC Network.
