Kirby Smart Talks About Injured Players and Their Status After Georgia's First Scrimmage

- On Kendall Milton - "Kendall has not been able to completely go. He’s trying to get back best he can," - On Branson Robinson - "Branson [Robinson] goes into individuals so that's what you are seeing in the assumption that he is back. He is not cleared to go yet. He's on track to get back earlier than we originally thought, but he's not back yet. He does individuals because that is great exercise for him. That's reps for him to catch in the backfield, but no, he's not back." - On Rayl

UGA Recruiting - Kirby Smart Always Has One or Two Late Commits Up His Sleeve

It's hard to complain or post anything negative about recruiting when you're the back to back national champions and have the top rated recruiting classes in 2024 and 2025. Saying that, this hasn't been the best week in recruiting for Kirby Smart as far as the secondary goes with 5* S KJ Bolden choosing Florida State and 4* S Peyton Woodyard flipping his commitment to Alabama. This once was a promising safety class, with Woodyard and 4* Jaylen Heyward committed and UGA seemingly the favorite for

What Are Georgia's Options At Safety for the 2024 Class?

Well, there you go. Three things have happened now and UGA doesn't have a safety commit for the 2024 class: 1) KJ Bolden chose FSU over UGA 2) Peyton Woodyard flipped to Alabama 3) Jaylen Heyward decommitted and is favoring UCF Kirby Smart and company did everything they could to get Bolden and will continue to do so. Heyward is just better suited for UCF and while UGA would have liked to keep Woodyard, he always seemed more to me like an old school downhill safety more than

Georgia Picked to Win the SEC East and SEC Championship

SEC Media Days are behind us, summer workouts are coming to an end, and fall camp is about to begin. It will be time for college football in 36 days and 43 days until Georgia's first game! That is when it's time to put up or shut up. In the meantime Tennessee fans will still think their high-powered offense will somehow vault them over the Dawgs, South Carolina fans will sing the praises of Shane Beamer and scream that this is the year they put a trophy on their empty shelf, Florida fans are hop

Sixteen Georgia Players on All-SEC Preseason Team

SEC Media Days is now behind us and the 2023 football season is that much closer to starting! There's no better way to kick it off than with the 2023 Preseason All-SEC Team, voted on by the media members at SEC Media Days. Our own @Graham Coffey was there and registered his votes. Once again, The University of Georgia had the most players voted in with 16 total. The Dawgs had five first team offensive players and six first team defensive players. LSU was second in both categories with three firs

2024 Recruiting Overview

Alright, it's getting to be late July and the Dawgs are already working on finishing out the 2024 class. Let's take a look at what's going on by position: QB - Georgia is done at QB and both Dylan Raiola and Ryan Puglisi are solid commits. RB - Georgia has two solid commits in Dwight Phillips Jr. and Chauncey Bowens. - Don't be surprised if Nate Frazier pulls the trigger in July or August. Either way, we like the Dawgs here. WR - Georgia has three solid commits in Nitro T

The Great Wall of Georgia

It's fun being a fan of the Geprgia Bulldogs right now. The Dawgs are back to back national champions and have the #1 ranked recruiting class for 2024 AND 2025. Kirby Smart and company are taking the phrase 'Dawgs on Top' to an entirely different level. It has been evident that Smart wants to place an emphasis on the trenches since he first hired Sam Pittman as the offensive line coach. Nine offensive linemen from UGA have been drafted since 2017, including four in the first round (Isaiah W

Previewing the 2024 Receiver Board

As successful as Kirby Smart has been at recruiting since he became the head coach at The University of Georgia, one position group that hasn't stood out as much as others as far as ranking is concerned is the receiver position. Of course stars and rankings aren't everything. Most sane Dawg fans wouldn't trade Ladd McConkey for 99% of the other receivers in college football right now and he came in out of high school ranked as the #169 receiver in the nation. With that being said, it's no s

Why Hiring Mike Bobo Could Be a Bad Thing

Todd Monken was the right hire for Kirby Smart and the Georgia football program at the right time. We needed an innovative offensive mind to come in and catch the Dawgs' offense up with the rest of the college football world. That high powered offense combined with a couple of nasty defenses led UGA to back to back national championships and has The University of Georgia on top of the college football world. Gone is Monken and his highly prolific offense to the Baltimore Ravens. Back is for

Why Hiring Mike Bobo is a Good Thing

Let's go ahead and get one thing out of the way at the start......................NOBODY associated with UGA wanted to lose Todd Monken. He came into a program that previously had Brian Schottenheimer and James Coley as offensive coordinator. He came in and revolutionized the Georgia offense into one of the best offenses in college football. Everyone knows the story of the former walk-on turned Heisman finalist and two time national champion. That doesn't happen without Todd Monken. He's plain a

Previewing the 2024 Tight End Board

This may not make Dawg fans happy, but I'm not sure anyone could oturight call The University of Georgia TE-U just yet. We're getting there and are definitely one of the best programs in the nation for tight ends. We should be able to claim the title outright soon with the way things are going on the field and in recruiting, combined with the strong history at the position in Athens. The history of the tight end position at UGA is only rivaled by the likes of Iowa, Stanford, and Notre Dame.

Previewing the 2024 Running Back Board

It's hard to write about the history of the running back position at The University of Georgia. Not because there isn't any content there, but because the history is so strong that writing about it just seems like you're repeating what has already been said over and over again. Everyone in college football knows and UGA fans have heard it all. Walker, Hearst, Moreno, Gurley, Chubb, RB-U, etc. No other team in the country has a stronger history at the running back position. The Dawgs look to

Previewing the 2024 Quarterback Board

Since Kirby Smart was named the head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs, recruiting players to Athens has reached an entirely different level. Gone are the days of last minute offers to cover thin position groups on campus. We're in the times of UGA being the hunter, on the field and on the recruiting trail. Smart and company are basically able to pick who they want. Success is a huge reason why, but it starts with the reletlessness from the coaching staff on the recruiting trail. The 2024 class

UGA 2023 Signing Class Superlatives

It's that time. Georgia's 2023 recruiting class is 99% done and the Dawgs once again finished with one of the best classes in the nation. If you like seeing the stars beside the prospects' names, UGA has a lot of those. Kirby Smart and company also filled many needs with this class. Looking at the classes overall, there are only one or two fan bases that could honestly say that they wouldn't trade classes with the Back2Back national champions. MOST LIKELY TO BECOME A FIRST ROUND PICK I

Georgia Mourns the Loss of Devin Willock and Chandler LeCroy

This one is hard. Just when you think you have everything figured out, tragedy strikes and puts things into perspective. The game of football has brought all of us together in different ways. We watch and cheer as our Dawgs hit the field every Saturday. We scream and celebrate as the players showcase their athletic abilities Between the Hedges. Some know these guys by their number and position. We talk about roster spots and how many players we have at a certain position. Those that follow

All-American Bowl Preview, Commitment Prediction

It's that time again. The holidays are over and the national championship game is about to be played. Early enrolle recruits are making their way to campuses across the nation to begin their college football journey. But before then, some of these recruits will get a chance to showcase their talents at the annual All-American Bowl. The game is tomorrow at 1pm on NBC and will put the east squad on the field against the west squad. While each team is loaded with high profile recruits, it's al

COMMIT! Hall to the Red and Black

First there was Davis and Wyatt, now there is Jarrett and Hall. The previous duo are first round NFL picks and the latter hopes to do the same. While Jarrett has been on the commit list for a while, it has taken Hall longer to make a final decision. The four star defensive lineman from Jacksonville has been high on Georgia for the longest. UGA receiveved his last visit and received his last in-home visit. That was for good reason. Not only has her been high on Georgia for a while, the Dawgs

COMMIT! Five Star is Finally a Dawg

Make no mistake about it, Coach Diribe and the rest of the Georgia coaching staff have put the work in to secure the commitment of five star edge prospect Damon Wilson. This has been a battle with Ohio State for what seems to be the longest time. As a matter of fact, there was a point this fall where I would have predicted him to the Buckeyes. Then the top 5* target visited for the Tennessee game. Most of the time one game doesn't decide a recruitment, but this game certainly didn't hurt th

COMMIT! Big Time Speedster to UGA

There hasn't been as much "hoopla" involving Georgia and the 2023 class as there was in previous classes, with most of the hay being in the barn for Kirby Smart and company. How glad were you when Nakobe Dean chose the Dawgs out of the 3-5 teams he was still considering on signing day? How about the last minute flip of George Pickens from in-state Auburn to UGA? That's my favorite recruiting memory between the Dawgs and my most hated team in the entire world! There has been one prospect who

COMMIT! Harris is a Dawg Again

There actually hasn't been a ton of drama surrounding Georgia recruiting as in previous years leading up to National Signing Day. The Dawgs had 23 solid commitments already in the fold, with nine of those prospects already in Athens and practicing with the team. There were only four primary targets left on the board heading into today, with a few transfer portal targets left to decide. The one who made the most noise as far as UGA is concerned is Daniel Harris. The 4* DB actually committed
