Some tough news today out of UGA spring practice.
Sources have told DawgsCentral that TE Pearce Spurlin will miss the rest of spring practice with an injury to the collar bone. Spurlin is a true freshman who joined the Bulldogs as an early enrollee in December.
Spurlin missed time during his senior season of high-school after having shoulder surgery during the 2022 off-season. At 6’6” 240-pounds, Spurlin was ranked as the #2 TE in the 2023 recruiting class and came to Georgia after a
DawgsCentral spoke to Jalen Carter’s attorney on Thursday afternoon in an effort to gain further clarity on the former UGA player’s actions in the moments after the tragic crash that took the lives of Georgia offensive lineman Devin Willock and Bulldogs recruiting staffer Chandler LeCroy. His statements refuted reports that Carter fled the scene of the accident prior to the arrival of law enforcement and medical personnel.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution first broke the news that Carter’s
DawgsCentral has learned that Georgia defensive lineman Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins underwent foot surgery this week.
The redshirt sophomore from Gaffney, SC was limited throughout fall camp due to a foot injury. It was decided that Ingram-Dawkins would have surgery on his foot this week after playing 10 snaps in UGA’s opener against UT-Martin. A timetable for his return is not currently known.
Many expected Ingram-Dawkins to see increased playing time for Georgia this season after he playe
DawgsCentral has learned that UGA RB Daijun Edwards suffered an MCL sprain to his knee in a recent practice.
Sources are hopeful that Edwards can be ready for UGA’s opening game against UT-Martin on September 2nd, but the senior from Norman Park has not been participating in drills so far this week.
Edwards was Georgia’s second leading rusher last year with 797 yards on 140 carries.
To put it mildly, UGA’s running back room has had a bad run of injury luck lately.
UGA freshman TE Lawson Luckie suffered a high ankle injury last Saturday during UGA’s first scrimmage of fall camp. Now the timeline for his return is becoming clearer.
Sources told DawgsCentral earlier in the week that Luckie was in a protective boot and not practicing due to the injury. Radi Nabulsi of UGA Sports first reported Luckie’s absence from Georgia’s practice on Tuesday. Luckie was scheduled to have surgery on Wednesday. That news was first reported by Marc Weiszer of the Athens
Sources tell Dawgs Central that running back Kenny McIntosh is likely to miss UGA’s upcoming game against Missouri. At this time it is believed McIntosh will only miss one game. McIntosh left UGA’s game against Kent State last weekend after taking a hit to the thigh on a carry in the fourth quarter. Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart told reporters this week that McIntosh had already been dealing with a bruise in the same spot he was hit.
The senior’s 227 receiving yards is tied for second on the
Sources have told Dawgs Central that UGA receiver AD Mitchell is expected to miss the South Carolina game after suffering a high ankle sprain in the first quarter of UGA’s 33-0 win over Samford in Sanford Stadium on Saturday.
Mitchell had 29 catches for 426 yards and 4 TD’s in 2021, including the go-ahead touchdown in Georgia’s win over Alabama in the CFP National Championship.
A timetable for Mitchell’s return is not yet known. Stay tuned for Dawgs Central for more details as they b
