August is over and so is the dead period! An evaluation period has also started, which means Kirby Smart and his on-field coaching staff can hit the road/air and check out some of UGA's top targets under the Friday Night Lights. We were able to get a solid visit list together for the Oregon game HERE. It included 2023 recruits like Justice Haynes, Caleb Downs, and Stephiylan Green (all committed elsewhere). Top targets such as Daevin Hobbs and Chris Peal were also at The Benz. If that's not enough, plenty of 2024 recruits were in attendance. This included Jadyn Davis, Mike Matthews, and Zion Ragins among others.

We'll also post a visit list for the Samford game. With this being a 4pm game, Georgia might be able to get some bigger names in (not too early, not too late), but still expect the list to be heavy on 2024 and 2025 prospects. We already gave our Dawgs Central susscribers the possibility of two five stars being in town Saturday HERE and will confirm as soon as we can confirm that they'll actually be in attendance.

I believe 110% that Kirby Smart always has good news in his back pocket that he can use to counteract bad news. It has happened too many times to just be a coincidence. For proof, look no further than the last weekend in August. The Dawgs had a ton of momentum for 2023 4* receiver Anthony Evans until the day before his decision date on August 26th. That's when he chose the Oklahoma Sooners over the Dawgs, even after he had told some that he was choosing UGA, including the Oklahoma coaches. What happens? All of a sudden, 2023 4* OT Monroe Freeling is ready to announce his decision and three days later he is a Dawg. Coincidence? I think not. Freeling chose the Dawgs over Alabama, Florida, Miami, Notre Dame and others.

Other notable commits to UGA or our recruiting/SEC rivals include former UGA commit, 4* WR Daquavious Sorey, committing to Auburn. Four star Edge Desmond Umeozulu committed to South Carolina, while 4* OT Zalance Heard committed to home state LSU. Also, While I was writing this article yesterday, Bravion Rogers re-committed to Texas A&M. The four 4* DB decommited from the Aggies in August and was going to give UGA an official visit, but took a trip to College Station this weekend and decided to jump back on board. The Dawgs weren't really going to be a threat for him regardless. In the 2024 class, Grayson DB Zion Ferguson committed to LSU. Although he's a fine player, he's one that wasn't necessarily on UGA's radar as a top target.

Check out our QUICK HITTERS we posted yesterday for information on a possible 2023 5* QB target, a 2023 4* WR committed elsewhere to keep an eye on, who is on commit watch, and much much more!
