Monroe Freeling is a Dawg

Dawg fans already have something to celebrate to begin the start of the season and Oregon week. Four star prospect Monroe Freeling is now on the UGA commit list. The 6'7 285 pound offensive lineman committed to Georgia over Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Miami and others. As we mentioned in his commitment preview, this is really one that came down to UGA offensive line coach Stacy Searels.

Freeling had an offer from UGA, but Searels really turned up the heat after he was hired. As a matter of fact, we had the Dawgs out of the running until then. The two had an existing relationship from when Searels was at UNC. Freeling has been on campus multiple times, the last being at the end of July right before the dead period. He has not taken his official visit yet and will do so sometime during the season.

Look for Freeling to hit the recruiting trail for the Dawgs, as they look to build on their top 3 class in the nation. Freeling is commitment #19 for the Georgia Bulldogs and is now the 5th highest rated player in Kirby Smart's 2023 class. He joins Bo Hughley, Kelton Smith, and Joshua Miller as the offensive line commits for Coach Searels.

Remaining offensive line targets for UGA are Samson Okunlola, TJ Shanahan, and Baylor commit Sean Thompkins. The Dawgs could very well be done for this offensive line class.
