Official Dawgs Central Prediction - Monroe Freeling

Another day and another decision for a top UGA target. While the last one didn't go as we wanted, I believe Dawg fans will be happy after 7:30 tonight. That's when Monroe Freeling will announce his decision.

One of the hot topics in UGA recruiting circles has been the recruiting ability of offensive line coach Stacy Searels since he was hired. While I have been one of his biggest critics, I can say that we wouldn't be the favorite to gain Freeling's commitment tonight without him. The two had an existing relationship from Searels recruiting Freeling at North Carolina that carried over with the coach now in Athens.

As a matter of fact, I remember posting on Field St Forum that we wouldn't be a top team for Freeling not long before Searels was hired. Shortly after, we were back in it. The Dawgs have been trending for the 6'7 offensive tackle for a good while and he has been in Athens multiple times, all unofficial visits. Freeling chose UGA to be his last visit the last weekend in July before the month long August dead period started.

I am very confident in putting an "Official DC Prediction" in for UGA with a 9.9/10 confidence level. Of course anything can happen in recruiting, as Anthony Evans proved this weekend. I also had a very high confidence level for the 4* receiver to be a Dawg until the last minute. Check out the Dawgs Central forum for the background story there. I don't forsee anything like that happening at all with Freeling and think it's very good news for UGA that he's moved his commit date up.

This falls in line with Kirby Smart always having good news ready after something bad happens. Next up will be Tyler Williams in September, but maybe a surprise before then.
