Dawgs Central Prediction - Dawgs Will Get Big Man in the MIddle

As everyone is well aware, one of the keys to UGA's historic defense last season was Jordan Davis. His 6'6 340 pound frame took multiple offensive linemen to block, freeing up those around him. He also made plenty of plays himself in the backfield and running sideline to sideline. Kirby Smart and company have found Jordan Davis 2.0 in 6'6 350 pound Jamaal Jarrett. The similarities only start at their size. Both are from North Carolina, Jarrett is athletic like Davis, they have similar footwork, and you can tell the drive and determination is there for Jarrett like it is Davis.

Davis actually made his way back to Athens to see Jarrett on his official visit. That's how important the big man is to this 2023 class. But can the Dawgs beat home state UNC and Auburn for the four star defensive lineman? You can't discount the Tigers altogether here, but they seem to be running third. Obviously the Tar Heels have to be taken seriously. They have been recruiting much better under Mack Brown and they have the home team factor on their side. They also have former Grimsley teammate, freshman Travis Shaw, already on campus. UGA was also a major player for him.

While the Tar Heels have been recruiting better and have the home state advantage, the Dawgs are going to be hard to beat here. There's the lure of playing for the defending national champions and the chance for additional championships. Georgia has the clear advantage of being in the SEC, where he'll be playing against the best of the best every single day at practice and on Saturdays. As the Proverb says, Iron Sharpens Iron. If that's not enough, there are the three UGA defensive linemen taken in the first round of last year's NFL draft.

We believe these factors are enough to put UGA over the edge in Jarrett's recruitment and have him choosing the good guys on July 19th!

Also, a great addition that we at Dawgs Central want to bring you is player evaluations. When UGA gets a commit or when we predict a top target to the Dawgs, you'll get an in-depth player evaluation to go along with the big news. Graham Coffey does a great job with these:
