Dawgs Bury Vols with Early Dominance

Georgia sent a message to college football that the title will run through Athens as Bulldogs jumped on the #1 Volunteers with big plays in first half and 60 minutes of crushing defense.  Tennessee was the leading scoring team in college football averaging almost 50 points a game.  Georgia held them to 3.9 yards per play, 13 points, and 37% offensive success rate.  Seems good.

Georgia's offense was humming in the first half.  Monken schemed several big plays and averaged 8.3 Yards and 54% success rate running out to a 24-6 halftime lead. After the early turnover and stop, Vols offense was bottled up with a negative .060 EPA and 33% success rate.

Expected Georgia to pour it on the second half, but the Defense was definitely not letting up when the offense seemed to.  The offense only needed to play better maybe save some snaps on the defense.

Statement game? Yes. It's November and the Georgia defense is the best in the country.  The offense is quietly efficient and makes very few mistakes.  There is no debate which team is the best right now.  Oregon will be ranked 8th or better, and the Bulldogs just stuffed the #1 team and best offense in the country in a locker.  Back to back road tests are next with one win securing another SEC East Title.
