It's Cocktail Party Week?

How weird is it that it's Georgia/Florida week, but no one is really talking about this weekend's game? Instead, I've seen two topics dominate throughout this week.

First up, the debate continues to roar on about whether this game should stay in Jacksonville or not. I wrote about that back in July on the heels of Kirby's comments to Tim Tebow at SEC Media Days, and my opinion hasn't changed. The trigger this week was the joint statement issued by the schools on Monday. While I'm glad the schools are taking "tradition" and "future SEC scheduling models" into account, they also mentioned the primary factor..."finances." Your move, city of Jacksonville.

The second topic is centered around the 2007 Georgia team storming the field after Knowshon Moreno dove into the end zone for the first touchdown of the game. It's been 15 years since that happened! We got multiple questions about that play on this week's episode of My God a Podcast, and @PowellJohnT and I had a good time talking about that moment.

I also was able to dig into the archives and find an old video I made. Be sure to watch this with the sound on!

If you're unfamiliar with what went down on this play, our friends over at 100 Sanford spoke with Coach Richt just last month about what went down in 2007.

Now, this is the part where the old me say that all of this talk about stuff that's not related to this game has me worried. That no one is focused on the game. But you know what? I'm trusting Kirby will have the boys ready to roll on Saturday. No one hates the Gators like he does.

FTMF and Go Dawgs!
