NiTareon Tuggle Player Evaluation

NiTareon (Nitro) Tuggle is a 4* WR in the 2024 recruiting class who will be playing at IMG Academy in the SSIA Conference of Florida high school football. The recruiting industry has Nitro ranked as the #163 player in the country, the #25 WR, and the #26 player in Florida.

·         Class – Rising Senior

·         Jersey # - 3

·         HT/WT – 6’2” 190 lbs.

·         Junior Yr. Stats – 40 receptions, 742 yards, 15 TD’s, 17 carries, 185 rushing yards, 2 rushing TD’s, 2 passing TD’s, 2 kick return TD’s, 1 INT on defense

Nitro is another top-level prospect who will be transferring to IMG to play his senior season at the renowned Florida high school. Tuggle is originally from South Bend, Indiana and played at Northwood High School in Nappanee, Indiana through his junior season. He is a multi-sport athlete who excels in football and track and field.

Cutting to the chase; Nitro Tuggle is a FOOTBALL PLAYER. He lined up in the backfield, took jet sweeps, returned kicks, played sticky coverage at corner, ran the wildcat, and threw multiple touchdowns on trick plays, all on top of being an exceptional X receiver. He plays aggressively and racks up yards after the catch like his life depends on it. Nitro has very good hands and knows how to high point the football, including a great catch radius. It is rare to see a WR with this combination of skills. He has sub-4.5 speed and can squat 425 pounds according to his Hudl.

In terms of playing Georgia’s scheme, I believe that all you have to do is put him on the field and get him the football. His height and catch radius make me lean towards labeling him an X receiver, but his YAC ability and athleticism tells me he can play X, Y, or Z. If Kirby gives him the chance to return kicks, he could be an Isiah McKenzie or Mecole Hardman level returner.

Per the usual, I must add in an aspect that could improve. For Nitro, I think he could refine his route running a little better and create better separation on short to mid routes. Nitro is a much better player than his ranking suggests, and I would venture to say that he will be a top 50 player after his senior season at IMG.

·         NiTareon Tuggle Player Comp. – Hines Ward in George Pickens’s body. Truthfully, there isn’t a Georgia player in my lifetime that really reminds of me Nitro. He has the frame and contested catch ability of Pickens with the versatility and athleticism of Hines. A non-Dawg comp would be Deebo Samuel.
